To celebrate the opening of Southampton’s new theatre, the NST City, we popped down to take a look around.
The world premiere of Howard Brenton’s The Shadow Factory – about the devastation reigned on Southampton during the Battle of Britain – has opened the new venue. Directed by NST artistic director Sam Hodges, the production has design by 59 Productions and a cast including Daniel York, Anita Dobson and Lorna Fitzgerald.
The NST City is part of Studio 144, a new £28m venue in Southampton’s city centre. The building will include a 450 seat main house and a 135 seat studio, as well as screening facilities, rehearsal and workshop spaces.
The Shadow Factory runs at the NST City until 2 March.
